Venice continues to serve as a living laboratory for understanding the tensions and transformations shaping contemporary cities. The seminar “Reflections on Tourism in Venice” offers an open discussion between lecturers, researchers, and students from the University of Lleida and the Venetian universities, focusing on tourism processes, urban policies, and the challenges of cultural sustainability.
The event, taking place in the Auditorium of the Cotonificio Veneziano, will feature contributions from:
- Francesco Gastaldi and Nicola Di Croce, Università Iuav di Venezia
- Maurizio Busacca and Nicola Camatti, Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia
- Alessia Cibin, University of Technology Sydney, Australia
- Daniel Paul Agusti, University of Lleida, Spain
This initiative provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on tourism practices and their social, economic, and environmental implications, fostering an international dialogue between Venice and the wider academic community across Europe and Australia.
