Night Studies in North America Seminar – Spring 2026 Programme

We are pleased to announce the new cycle of virtual sessions of the seminar Night Studies in North America (in Spanish), organised by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Center for Research on North America (CISAN), in collaboration with the International Night Studies Network (INSN), the Institut de Géaoarchitecture (UBO), the Institut des Amériques (IDA), and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Montreal (McGill University).

This seminar provides an academic forum dedicated to consolidating the night as a sociological and analytical category, addressing its affective, corporeal, cultural, and social dimensions through interdisciplinary and comparative perspectives.

The Spring 2026 programme includes four thematic sessions exploring different configurations of contemporary nocturnal experience:

  • Session 1. Nocturnal Affects
    February 25, 2026
  • Session 2. Night and Sport
    March 25, 2026
  • Session 3. Nocturnal Bodies
    April 22, 2026
  • Session 4. Digital Youth Cultures at Night
    May 20, 2026

All sessions will be held online.

Access and participation

All sessions will take place using the same Zoom link, which will remain valid throughout the entire seminar cycle:
