Christine Mady

Christine Mady has a PhD in City and Regional Planning from Cardiff University, UK. Her PhD was on the dynamics of temporary open urban spaces and property rights in Beirut, Lebanon. She is Associate Professor in architecture, urban design, and urban planning. She is also a certified Project Management Professional, and UK Research and Innovation, UKRI member. Prior to assuming her professional and academic positions in Lebanon, she was an associate tutor at the School of City and Regional Planning at Cardiff University, UK. In 2014 the Urban Studies Foundation (USF) awarded her the international postdoctoral fellowship. She has worked as an urban planning consultant within the MENA region, focusing on social infrastructure, particularly public spaces.

Research topics: public space and property rights, public spaces in post-conflict contexts, planning and public health, mobility and infrastructure planning.
