
Violeta Rodríguez is currently a PhD Candidate in Sociology – Cities and Urban Cultures from the Centre for Social Studies at Coimbra University. She holds a degree in Sociology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a Master’s degree in Social Sciences and Humanities from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM). Her research topics include: production and consumption of urban cultures, night studies, social media and digital photography. Through the years, she has been part of several multidisciplinary research teams, acquiring extensive experience in the field of qualitative research methods. Currently, she is developing an investigation on the representations and imaginaries of cities in images of social networks, particularly in the Instagram application.
Her academic activities include the management of several cultural projects. She also has a specialization in Cultural Management from the University Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana.
